Our founder, Michael Staples, invested in his very first tool box and began building single family homes for his neighbor at the early age of 15. With a natural knack for construction, Michael started his own company in 1980, which became very successful. With the rapid growth of his company, Duane Stark joined in the Summer of 1997. Finding his passion for construction at the age of 14, Duane graduated and went straight into trade school. Being highly-skilled and knowledgeable in the industry, Duane quickly rose from wall lead to lead superintendent in 2008. Using their 50 years of combined experience, Twin City Framers was born that same year. They knew starting the company during a recession was risky, but with no more than a conex box, a handful of tools and a crew built from Craigslist ads, they persevered and have become the sole industry leader for large scale wood framed projects in the Twin Cities. Now with over 80 employees, Twin City Framers provides quality wood framed carpentry on schedule by ensuring superior customer service, a safe and productive work environment, and an ideal work space and culture for employees.
Twin City Framers has grown over the last 10 years by delivering high quality framing that meets aggressive schedules and unique budgets. We specialize in building large scale, commercial wood framed buildings, mostly comprised of apartment buildings, retirement/assisted living homes and hotels. We make it a priority to invest in our employees and their future by providing a training program to help them develop into a journeyman carpenter. Over the last decade, we have created productive and positive relationships with all of our customers and continue to make it a priority as our company continues to grow. With that, and the very high standard we hold ourselves to, we have been fortunate enough to have built a lasting reputation in the Twin Cities metro area.
